Maker Makes Functional Mini Gameboy with 3D Printer

A Maker from Denmark decided to build a mini Gameboy. The instructions and CAD models for 3D printing is open source for anyone to rebuild it.

The Danish 3D printing prodigy Rasmus Hauschild has a mini Gameboy made with a 3D printer. In the self-built Gameboy a Rasperry Pi Zero is used. The operating system runs Emulation Station which the mini Gameboy can play all sorts of Gameboy classic games, such as Super Mario Kart or Tetris.

3D printer for skin to replace animal testing

3D bio printed human skin is going to replace animal experiments. This is one of the markets for a Swedish 3D-printer startup that uses ink with living cells. In March the company Cellink stepped in to this year’s 33 list, a list consisting of Sweden’s youngest and hottest technology companies that have chance to become a global giant.

Modeclix Reveals 3D Printed Wearable Dresses

With the “Modeclix Collection”, the University of Hertfordshire in the UK have a clothing line that is ahead of its time, which includes eight dresses made with the help of 3D printing. The aim of the project “Modeclix Project” is to make custom clothes out of the 3D printer to the mass market.

3D Printer - the use Poses Legal Risks

The digitization of production has already begun and the 3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing plays a key role in this. Companies should use 3D printers - and deal intensively with the legal risks about liability issues or piracy.

Last year, there was hardly any medium that did not reported about 3D printer and 3d printing, the maker scene or new applications of additive manufacturing processes in the industry. That said, the digitization of production has already begun. The production of workpieces by means of a generated 3D model on the computer is today reality, though there are the stringent quality requirements. Initially, 3D printing is a method for the production of prototypes and are already used in mass production in aircraft today.
