3D Printer - the use Poses Legal Risks

The digitization of production has already begun and the 3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing plays a key role in this. Companies should use 3D printers - and deal intensively with the legal risks about liability issues or piracy.

Last year, there was hardly any medium that did not reported about 3D printer and 3d printing, the maker scene or new applications of additive manufacturing processes in the industry. That said, the digitization of production has already begun. The production of workpieces by means of a generated 3D model on the computer is today reality, though there are the stringent quality requirements. Initially, 3D printing is a method for the production of prototypes and are already used in mass production in aircraft today.

3D Activation about 3D printing jewelry

In the latest issue for March / April 2016, the Germany industry Jewellery magazine “Schmuck-Magazine” dealt with the trending topic: Jewelry made from the 3D printer.  The magazine with the headline: “Nothing is impossible - jewelry with 3D printing” deals not only with the currently observed trends in jewelry 3D printing scene but also what some experts insight in the field. The article includes Fabian Strohschein, the Managing Director of 3D Activation GmbH, a 3D printing service providers in Wiesbaden and Thun / Switzerland.

Magic Candy Factory-3D Printer Candy Shop Opens for Business

A German candy manufacturer created the Magic Candy Factory, a 3D printer that, instead of plastic, uses fruit gum to create treats in various shapes, flavors and colors. Candy can be shaped and selected in detail via iPad. Currently, the machine works in a shop in Berlin, Germany, but there are already plans to expand trade.

City in Germany Embrace 3D Printing as a Tool for Economic Development

3D printing Solingen is an open network for 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing for companies and organizations in Solingen (a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany) and surroundings. Membership is free and without obligation. The network is an initiative of the Economic Development Solingen GmbH & Co. KG.
